Why crews ask for longleaf

Longleaf needles run long — commonly eight to eighteen inches — and that length is the whole story. The needles lock together into a mat instead of sitting loose, which means the bed holds a clean edge and stays put on a slope far better than shorter straw does.

It also holds that rich rust color well into the season. For properties where the beds are the first thing anybody sees — a subdivision entrance, a clubhouse, a hospital campus, a church — longleaf is what gets specified.

Every bale is hand-baled on metal box balers, so bales come out square, tight, and consistent from the first one on the trailer to the last one off. Your crew is not fighting loose, half-fallen-apart bales all afternoon. We also offer longleaf in round rolls when you are covering big open ground.

Where it comes from

Off fields we own or lease in and around Worth County, Georgia. We do not buy straw off somebody else's truck and resell it, which is how we can tell you what is in a load before it ever leaves the yard.

Longleaf is priced by the load — the number depends on quantity and how far it has to travel. We sell primarily by the semi-load, and smaller orders are possible depending on season and location. Send your delivery ZIP and rough quantity and we will get you a real number.
